Ear mites in cats are an infectious organism which seems to be exactly like the tick. They live in the ear of cats and dogs; typically more so in cats. They are highly contagious and easily spread through physical contact. They are hard to see with the naked eye but you may be able to see tiny white dots. To make sure that it really is ear mites, the veterinarian will scrape several waxy materials from the cat’s ear canal and look at it in a microscope to verify the conclusions. Adults survive by eating the skin and they live for about 4 weeks. Even though the mites are usually found in the ear. Cases are reported that they can spread. Humans won’t get infected but some do get skin rashes.

You don’t need to be stressed if you think your cat has ear mites, confirm it by taking the animal to the vet. They will test it. Once it is confirmed, you will be given instructions regarding how to apply the treatment. It is very important thoroughly clean the cat’s ear before applying any sort of medicines. You also need to make sure that your cat’s ears are thoroughly clean, meaning there should be no wax left , this is because these mites live under the wax that seemed to protect them as well. If that happens the ointment or medication will not serve its purpose as it can’t penetrate the wax.. Also, keep to the recommendations; do not quit the medication too early. If you do, they can come back. Secondary infections can develop if not treated promptly.

The signs are rather obvious because the ear mites bite. Not like parvo symptoms, your cat will experience severe itchiness and they’re going to scratch the ear more frequently than usual. And these is a sure sign of ear mites. A high temperature is not a indication of ear mites. However, you will probably see your cat shaking their head. They can be trying to dispose of that feeling as it is really really irritating. Too much scratching can result to hair loss and scabbing on the infected part. When you are seeing unrestrainable scratching of the ear. start looking inside. Look for dark, crumbly, waxy discharge, this is another sign. These signs will be apparent in both ears also.

The stages of ear mites start with the egg after that larvae, to the deutonymph and lastly adulthood. The incubation period is 3 weeks and after that it will become adult that will live for 28 days. The adult male is going to mate with the deutonymph. At this point the deutonymph has not yet confirmed its sexuality; that can take place right after the mating process. The sexuality will be determined after the mating process, all the females will lay eggs while the males who did not lay an egg look for the another mate. When the mites have bitten almost all they may within the ear, they’re known to depart and go to the outside and to other areas on the body to start feeding.

Since some medications do not work well with certain breeds, it is important to take your cat to the doctor and let them suggest medications. They’re qualified and also have the information to know what could be given. There are different types of medicines that are used to treat this and can sometimes last for a month. You can get it as a medicine drop or an injection. Of course, each has its own dosage. You can also pick the single dose prescription medication. I’m sure your vet can give your cat the best treatment for their kind of personality.

Cats are so central to our lives these days that it seems impossible to imagine a life without them. But, in fact, domestic cats are are fairly recent arrival in human history. While dogs have lived with us for at least 15, 000, and possibly as long as 50, 000 years, the cat only became a human companion some 10, 000 years ago.

The reason for this is simple. Cats are supreme hunters and did not need charity nor hand-outs to survive.

You may wonder why cats allowed themselves to become domesticated at all, and as with most things to do with cats, it was because it suited them. With the invention of agriculture, large storage silos were erected to house grain crops. Rodents moved in to feast on this bounty, and cats moved in to feed them.

The archaeological record tells us that the first domestic cats appeared in the Middle East, where agriculture was invented. These cats descended from Felis Libyca, the African wild cat.

But the African wildcat was not the only contributor to the gene pool of the domestic cat. The European wild cat and the Asian Steppe or Pallas cat are also widely believed to have played a part.

There is very little information regarding the early domestication of cats, but statues dated back to 6, 000 BC, and found in modern day Turkey, show women playing with cats, suggesting that cats had clearly become common as pets by that time.

The earliest written records about cats appear in approximately 4,000 B.C. in Egypt. Here cats were used to control rodents in grain silos, and were considered the embodiment of the goddess Bast.

The Romans first introduced the cat to Europe, and similarly held felines in high regard. From Italy cats spread west to Britain and north to Scandinavia. The Vikings loved cats, and their goddess Freyja, is depicted riding a chariot pulled by winged cats.

However, by the Middle Ages, things had turned bad for the cat. The church declared them servants of Satan and they were were killed and tortured in their millions. Europe would come to regret their persecution of the cat. Due to the cat’s demise, rodent populations ran out of control, causing the Black Death, a plague that killed millions of Europeans.

The cat’s reputation would eventually be restored in Europe, and by the 1600′s the were again being kept as pets. They also had many high profile admirers, including the great artist Leonardo, who called them, ‘God’s perfect creation’.

In Asia though, the popularity of the cat had never waned. They were revered and cherished, and were the subject of art works in both China and Japan.

Today the cat remains a popular companion to humans around the world. In America they’ve even surpassed the dog as the most popular pet – a fitting tribute to these elegant and adorable animals.

If you’ve adopted a cat or kitten and are struggling to find kitten names, I’d recommend a visit to www.catnameshq.com.

Ask most people about cats and the words they’ll likely use are aloof, independent and stand-offish. As an avowed dog person for most of my life, I too believed this “propaganda” – that is until I adopted my first cat. I quickly learned that cats are affectionate, playful and entertaining, and that they can even be obedient.

If you’ve ever owned a cat you’ll know that they tend to bond closely with those they live with. This is not restricted to humans either, cats are known to build strong friendships with other cats, and even with dogs they’ve been socialized with. Don’t believe all the stories you’ve read about cat / dog rivalry, most often they are firm friends. Often, a cat will pick out a particular person to bond with. They’ll follow that person around, rub against them, curl up in their lap when they can, and speak to them in meows, purrs and trills.

Why a cat becomes “obsessed” with a particular person is open to conjecture. The obvious answer would be that the person is especially nice to the cat. But then how do you explain that a cat will often head straight for the one person in the room who claims not to like cats. Perhaps the cat sees it as his sacred duty to convert them!

But cats often share their affections with more than one person. Our three cats for example are all absolutely gaga about our little terrier mix. The love to curl up with him and give him a good grooming, despite his half-hearted complaints.

They also love our Labrador Retriever and are affectionate to us as well. One of our cats is deaf and perhaps because of it, very vocal. He’ll engage you in long conversations and is also very obedient, responding to a number of hand signals.

How affectionate a cat is may have a lot to do with breed. Some breeds, like Abyssinians, Persians and Siamese are renowned for their loving nature. They hate being left alone, and some are even known to suffer from separation anxiety.

So what does it take to build up a bond with your cat? Quite simple really, just treat your cat fairly. This means providing for his needs and treating him fairly. Never physically punish a cat. Aside from it being cruel, you’ll lose the trust of your cat forever. Cats don’t easily forgive and forget.

Cats love affection and attention and unlike dogs are not blindly obedient. Someone once said that you “may own a dog, but a cat owns you”, and that is not far from the truth. Be good to your cat and you’ll be rewarded with a loving, affectionate companion.

If you’re thinking of adopting a cat, you’ll need to come up with a good name. Cat Names HQ has 1000s of excellent cat names, including a mega list of girl cat names.

As of late, cats are among the many most popular pets you may own. There are several breeds out there, with the preferred being Persian and Siamese. Cats are a domesticated animal, with origins dating back some 8,000 years and beyond. Like another pet that you may own, including dogs, cats cost money to deal with properly.

Once you get a cat, you’ll want to consider the costs. You’ll obviously want food, and also you’ll need to plan forward for vet costs. You’ll also want litter, which may tend to get quite expensive as the years go by. Your cat will want a litter box, food dish, and water dish. You should also spend money on some toys as well, such as a scratching post, cat toys, a pet carrier, and a bed. You should also look into getting an ID collar as well, simply in case your cat ever gets lost.

Feeding your pet will rely a great deal on his age. Older cats require 2 small meals or one large meal for the day. Kittens alternatively, require several feedings a day until they get around the age of 12 weeks. Cats which are between three and six months of age need to be fed three times a day. Canned food could be fed to cats, although any food that has been left out longer than 30 minutes need to be disposed of. Canned food can get expensive fast, and it is best to all the time understand that some may need to be thrown away when you purchase it. Cats love canned food, although it doesn’t have any advantages to their dental health like dry food does.

“There are more of other interesting ideas from the same author. good resource”

As an alternative plan, you may all the time leave a supply of dry food out for your pet. Once you give your cat dry food, it is best to all the time grantee that he has enough water. Dry food costs lower than canned food, and it can also assist to prevent the buildup of tartar on your cat’s teeth. Once you purchase dry food, it is best to all the time look in terms of health and advantages, and keep away from generic food. Regardless that generic food could also be cheaper, it could not offer the vitamins your pet needs.

In the event you own a kitten, it is best to solely give your kitten food designed for him. You’ll also want to clean and refill his water dish every day. Regardless that kittens and adult cats like cow’s milk, it is best to keep away from giving it to them as it can cause diarrhea. Treats are fine occasionally, although too many of them could cause your pet to get fat. Feeding your kitten human food is good occasionally, although you may have to mix it in with his cat food.

By themselves, cats stay fairly clean. Although you don’t have to wash them that always, you’ll want to give them a brushing at least once a day. Brushing will reduce the chance of hairballs and hold your cat’s coat good and clean. If you are keeping your cat indoors, you’ll have to have a litter box in an area that is simple for your cat to access. You need to all the time scoop it every day, and clear it out once a week. Cats don’t like to use dirty litter containers, they like for it to be good and clean.

Although cats do require some work, they are great pets that may give you years and years of companionship. So long as you care for your cat and take him to the vet for his checkups, he should stay healthy. Regardless that cats can get sick now and again – realizing how to take care of him will make a world of difference.

One of the problem with owning cats is that they constantly shed fur. Some cats shed more hair than normal because of various health issues. Serious underlying conditions can cause this hair loss which is known as alopecia. If you notice abnormal amounts of hair loss, you should be concerned as an owner. Pruritic and non-pruritic are the two main categories of feline hair loss. Itchy skin is a symptom of pruritic hair loss, so cats often start biting, chewing, and licking themselves. Non-pruritic hair loss can be painful. However, cats can often lick the area.

Allergic reactions are usually responsible for pruritic hair loss. Felines have them in much the same way people do. Insect or flea bites can cause dematitis. This condition will prompt your cat to scratch and bite himself a lot. See your vet if this occurs, because he may want you to give your cat medication on a systematic basis that will keep fleas and bugs from biting him and starting colonies in his fur. On the other hand, the allergy may be attributable to other reasons such as changing your kitty’s food or exposure to dust, pollen, and other irritants.

It’s also possible that your cat has been affected by a fungus that causes ringworm. It’s very contagious, and once it gets started under your cat’s fur, you may not even know it’s there until his fur begins to fall out. Circular lesions will usually develop on cats with ringworm. To combat this condition, your cat will need anti-fungal cream. If you don’t get your cat treatment, then the condition won’t go away on its on for about three months.

Your cat can also lose its hair due to stress, injury, or conditions like Cushing’s disease and hyperthyroidism. Feline symmetrical alopecia may also become a problem in some cats. This condition can usually be treated with hormone injections. If you don’t know what’s causing the hair loss, don’t try to treat the condition on your own. You should take your cat to a vet to see exactly what the problem is so it can be treated accordingly. Doc No.kslhwde-sdtlgh
