Several years ago, my sweet Schnauzer was hit by a car. Fortunately, she survived but had her hip badly broken. She made it through the healing process and has done fairly well, although she never seemed to return to her full use. Her quality of life has been drastically different, which is evident in how slowly she moves now compared to before the accident. She rarely runs and plays, and it is difficult for her to go up and down the two steps from the patio doors to the backyard. Pet Chiropractic

It has been six years and, although her injuries have healed, she seems to be very sensitive lately if I touch her leg for any reason. I was very concerned about her as I was told once that this was a sign that the pet is in pain.

Finding out what was wrong with Cherish led me to a trip to the Animal Fitness Center. Dr. Ava Frick informed us that Cherish had been suffering from arthritis. I never thought that my dog would ever have arthritis. Somehow, I thought it was something that only humans had to deal with.

Arthritis is actually an inflammation of a joint, and often painful, which was explained by Dr. Frick. Arthritis causes the wear and tear to joins through the natural aging process. She said that the car hit so many years ago likely worsen the arthritis. And it will almost certainly be worse when if there has been any injury.

She said that the injury will oftentimes affect the joint to have irregular surfaces or cause problems on how two bones meet within in a joint. I cannot imagine this caused more wear and tear. Without the smooth, flexible cartilage being present, bone-on-bone contact can cause additional pain.

Dr. Frick explained that sometimes NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are helpful for pets with arthritis and cortisone could also be used to reduce pain and inflammation.

Also know to treating arthritis are certain dietary supplements including hose that contain glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, or MSM. Although it is oftentimes hard to be successful in finding a veterinarian, who is expert in these areas. Scheduling an appointment with Dr. Frick at Animal Fitness Center if you reside near Union, Missouri is highly recommended. She gave my dog a much happier life through her work of wonders in reducing Cherish’s arthritis pain and symptoms drastically. Animal Joint Pain

I got concerned on my five-year-old Maltese, Heidi’ dry and flaky coat as it was not the usual full and silky. Her condition did not alarm me at first because I thought it was just caused from the dryness in the house during the winter months. But it never cleared up. It even got worse. Pet Pain Relief

Heidi sleeps right next to me each night, and her irritation got to the point where she was waking up to scratch so vigorously that it awakened me. It is really hard to get a full-night’s sleep if your baby is suffering from pain!

Dr. Ava Frick, our veterinarian asked me if I might possibly be bathing Heidi too often or using the wrong shampoo during Heidi’s appointment when I mentioned about her irritation. I use a very mild shampoo and do not bathe Heidi too often although both reasons are common for a dog to experience skin irritation.

Fleas were out of the question, as I am diligent about preventing them from ever becoming a problem. She only goes outside to play a bit each day and relieve herself and I am cautious enough to have the yard treated in order to prevent fleas.

Having those possibilities ruled out, Dr. Frick and I had an interesting discussion regarding how essential fatty acids are necessary to a dog’s healthy coat. I was worried about the possibility of Heidi having some sort of deficiency in her diet, although I thought I was making the best choices when purchasing her food and treats.

I discovered about healthy fats that are essential in maintaining a dog’s coat in good shape Low-quality commercial dog food do not provide the proper nutrients to support healthy skin and coat. The same thing with improperly balanced homemade dog foods, they often lack proper nutrition.

Dog’s skin benefit from Omega-3 for its anti-inflammatory effects. They are helpful for dogs with allergies or other inflammatory skin diseases. They can also reduce itching, which is great since many dogs irritate their skin even further by scratching.

Dr. Frick advised some modifications on Heidi’s diet, including the addition of supplements. She told me to expect for some improvements on Heidi’s skin and coat within six weeks of starting Omega-3 implementation and she was right.

Now, my dog’s skin and coat are more splendid than ever. Best of all, Heidi no longer deals with irritation that led her to excessive scratching. Pet Chiropractic

My sweet Schnauzer was hit by a car several years ago. Fortunately, she survived but had her hip badly broken. Although she never seemed to return to her full use, she made it through the healing process and has done fairly well. In comparison to her quality of lifestyle before the accident, it is apparent that it has drastically changed through her slow moves. When going up and down the two steps from the patio to the backyard, she shows difficulty and seldom runs and plays. Pet Chiropractic

The other day, I can’t find Cherish and when I went looking for her, I discovered her cowering under the bed. I had once been told that this was a sign that the pet is in pain, so, as you can imagine, I was very concerned about her.

To Find out what was wrong with Cherish, made a trip to the Animal Fitness Center. Dr. Ava Frick informed us that Cherish had been enduring pain from arthritis. The thought of my dog having arthritis had never entered my mind. I had the thinking that it was only for humans.

Being hit by the car so many years ago, she said, likely aggravated the arthritis. And it will almost certainly be worse when there has been an injury.

Some non-medical alternatives have been proven to be successful in treating canine arthritis, including physical therapy, acupuncture, therapeutic laser, massage, and veterinary chiropractic. Although it is oftentimes hard to be successful in finding a veterinarian, who is expert in these areas. Scheduling an appointment with Dr. Frick at Animal Fitness Center if you reside near Union, Missouri is highly recommended.
