Listening to a dog bark constantly can be really annoying. Of course one of the main reasons that people buy dogs is to have them as a guardian. We want them to protect our homes and let us know if there is ever someone trying to break in. It’s these times when we are happy that we have a dog that barks at strangers. Other times, our dog barks because he needs something from us, like food or opening the door.
This is natural, however, when the dog barks at everything without a valid reason, it becomes a nuisance. They may bark at the slightest noise they hear or bark when guests come over during the day. If you find that your dog has this or similar behavior, it’s time that you take action. It is going to cause you to become annoyed and bothered but also can create problems with your neighbors.
What To Do
There are several ways you can treat this problem, but getting an anti bark collar is surely one of the most efficient options you have. These are considered to be very humane because they do not actually hurt your dog and yet they are almost always effective.
There are several types of anti bark collars that you can select from. You could go with one of the citronella anti bark collar products. A citronella bark collar stops your dog from barking by shooting small sprays of citronella in front of their nose. The dog stops barking while he tries to figure out what this new smell is and where it comes from. Over time they will start to realize that every time they bark when they are wearing the collar, the spray comes out.
Another type of anti bark collar that’s popular is the ultrasonic collar. Like the citronella anti bark collar, the ultrasound anti bark collar doesn’t use electrical shocks to correct the dog. Instead, it uses a noise that’s not detectable by humans, but that it’s detectable by dogs. The sound distracts the dog and keeps him brom barking, just like the citronella spray does.
Remember that you do not need to keep the anti bark collar on your dog all the time. Barking is a natural process and you just want to reduce it, not eliminate it, because trying to do so will put unhealthy stress on your dog.
